Coming back to Fitness

What’s it like to come back to fitness?

Life is never dull, it’s always full of surprises.

Like anything there’s always going to be events that may get in your way of your goals. I can speak for this first hand. If its coming back from injury, holiday or simply just coming back to better yourself it can be daunting.

Knowing how you were once and how hard you worked can seem depressing but actually all of that hard work has given you a blessing. See now you know how to do it, you know what foods to eat, what rep ranges work for you and your body will remember too! Thankfully we have muscle memory and after 2-3 months we can regain muscle atrophy we have lost as well as cardiovascular conditioning.

You may also find yourself doing things differently. Perhaps you are leaning towards strong man or body building. Rather than focus on the negative realise that fitness is always a journey and there is never a finished product. You can change things whenever you wish and choose the intensity on how you want to change yourself.

There is a big psychological battle when it comes down to getting back to training. And yes it will test you and it will probably frustrate you at times. But remember the only bad session is the one that didn’t happen. Keep going and before you know it you will be stronger, bigger and fitter than ever before.

Till the next set, the next rep..
